Peter and Lindsey Dawes

Peter and Lindsey Dawes moved to the larger facilities at Fairoak Grange in 2002.

Lindsey is a Group 3 rider who competes at Prix St George in dressage and qualified both Silk and Mousey at Advanced Medium for the Winter Championships 2009. She has owned and trained Silk since she was two years old. Lindsey is now producing the five year old Woody and has two two year olds, Roxy and Chrystal, for the future.

She has also successfully bred and produced young horse finalists and stud book inspected and mare performance tested mares at both the British Hanoverian Horse Society and the British Trakehner Verband.

She has trained with Suzanne Lavandera (nee Davies) for nearly ten years but also trains with James Burtwell and in the past has benefitted from help from a variety of trainers including Mette Assouline, Vicky Thomson and Wolfgang Niggli.

She has her BHSAI, BHS Stage 4 Horse Knowledge & Care, HSSE First Aid certificate and child protection course. She worked with horses for a number of years in England, the USA and Australia before qualifying as a practising solicitor first with Clifford Chance in London, Amsterdam and Singapore and then running the global training and know how programme for a major British energy company on a part time basis. She is a BD show organiser and also teaches and trains when time permits.

 

Peter works offshore for a major oil company and when home runs the farm and grassland management aspects of the business. He is an expert in health and safety and is continually working to construct and improve our facilities. The current project is to refurbish the office/reception area. They have two children, Michael and Melissa age 13 and 11.
