Lindsey Dawes – BD Accredited Trainer with L3 UKCC, BD Youth Assessor, list 2 BD judge and Advanced rider

Lindsey was one of only 3 coaches chosen to represent BD on the National Development Programme for Coaching Excellence (NDPCE) coaches course in 2019/20. She is also a Centre 10 Advanced coach after completing the 6 month APEC Advanced course (applied psychology for equestrian coaches).

She enjoys working with riders to develop their potential with their horse – at whatever level from Intro to Advanced riders. Her satisfaction comes from seeing riders and their horses develop and achieve various goals along the way. Some times their goals are competitive but often they are also personal.

Lindsey teaches in both the indoor and outdoor arenas at Fairoak. Lessons can be booked through BD South and West region – either on official clinics or through flexi training- and these count towards official BD training needed for Regional Team selection.

Cost £60 for private 45 minute lessons at Fairoak or £55 for liveries. Lessons cancelled on less than 24 hours notice will be charged in full.

Alice Oppenheimer in hand clinics £70

Alice works with horse and rider from the ground with her TRT inspired approach and exercises.

Dannie Morgan- £70

One of the most successful younger riders in Britain today, Dannie has won more than 60 Regional titles and National titles combined. He has a wealth of experience to share and we are delighted to host his clinics.

Melissa Dawes – £45

Melissa is a Grand Prix rider and a UKCC level 3 coach specialising in youth riders. She is particularly popular with local Pony Clubs and Riding Clubs.

Peter Storr Clinics

Peter is one of the most influential people in dressage in the UK. Himself an international Grand Prix competitor and previous National Champion, he competed at the 2001 European championships and 2002 World Equestrian Games and was non travelling reserve for the Sydney Olympics. He is also a renowned trainer of international combinations, including coaching the pony team to an historic gold team as well as coaching the individual Gold medallist. Peter is now an FEI 5 * judge and judging at the Crozet European Championships, as well as being a BD list 1 judge, tutor judge and Director of Judging for BD. There are not many spaces on these clinics so it is essential to book early to avoid disappointment. £100

Test Riding Clinics/Position Perfect Training Academies

Practice a test before a championship or try a test at a new level. These 30 min sessions with BD List 2 judge Lindsey Dawes will help you hone your skills and understand what the judge is looking for. £45

Alternatively, book a mini Boot Camp and enjoy a series of 3 or 4 lessons focused on either Test Riding or your Position which can be improved with help from kinaesthetic taping, specific exercises, video feedback and even lunging.

BD Youth Coach and Assessor

As BD Youth Coach and Assessors, both Lindsey and Melissa work with a number of U25s many of whom have enjoyed considerable competitive success. They are DBS checked, maintains first aid, child protection and insurance.

Youth riders typically are squadded and work towards Rider Skills Tests to support application for team places on BD Youth Inter Regionals. Riders will also be prepped for BD Youth Home International and U25 National Championships.

Lindsey has been a BD Youth team trainer for over 10 years, chef d’equipe and is regularly asked to judge at the Inter Regionals.
