Lindsey Dawes – BD Accredited Trainer with L3 UKCC, BD Youth Assessor, list 2 judge and Advanced rider

Lindsey was one of only 3 coaches chosen to represent BD on the National Development Programme for Coaching Excellence (NDPCE) coaches course in 2019/20.

She enjoys working with riders to develop their potential with their horse – at whatever level from Intro to Advanced riders. Her satisfaction comes from seeing riders and their horses develop and achieve various goals along the way. Some times their goals are competitive but often they are also personal.

Lindsey teaches in both the indoor and outdoor arenas at Fairoak. Lessons can be booked through BD South and West region – either on official clinics or through flexi training- and these count towards official BD training needed for Regional Team selection.

Cost £55 for private 45 minute lessons at Fairoak or £50 for liveries. Blocks of 9 lessons can be purchased for use within 120 days at £50 per lesson. Lessons cancelled on less than 24 hours notice will be charged in full.

Ryan Shannon in hand clinics £45

Ryan comes approx once a month and trains the horses in hand for piaffe. The work is good for teaching the horses how to connect through their backs and also submission. The clinics are popular and fill up well in advance. £45

Adam Kemp FBHS – £80

Adam Kemp comes every couple of months to Fairoak and remains one of the most sought after trainers in the country. He has trained riders to WEG and given demo’s at the BD National Convention. His clinics are always full with a waiting list so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Melissa Dawes – £40

Melissa is a Grand Prix rider and has her UKCC level 2. She is particularly popular with BD Youth riders and is also a regular trainer for local Pony Clubs and Riding Clubs.

Olympic silver medallist Spencer Wilton – £110

Spencer has been a regular trainer at Fairoak since 2013. He is very popular with advanced riders although all are welcome.

Test Riding Clinics

Practice a test before a championship or try a test at a new level. These 30 min sessions with BD List 3A judge Lindsey Dawes will help you hone your skills and understand what the judge is looking for. £45

BD Youth Coach and Assessor

As a BD Youth Coach and Assessor Lindsey works with a number of U25s many of whom have enjoyed considerable competitive success. She is DBS checked, maintains first aid, child protection and insurance.

Youth riders typically are squadded and work towards Rider Skills Tests to support application for team places on BD Youth Inter Regionals. Riders will also be prepped for BD Youth Home International and U25 National Championships.

Lindsey has been a BD Youth team trainer, chef d’equipe and is regularly asked to judge at the Inter Regionals.
